To Y'all! It was a year ago today that we left Canada and moved here to Tennessee. In lots of ways it is hard to believe.
We are wearing Canada Flag pins today and have a USA flag and Canada flag hanging out front. Never have we been so patriotic.
Like I have said often, if I had to move anywhere, Tennessee is a great place and it would be perfect if all of you were here with us. But we each have our own lives to live. God has chosen this path for the us right now in our lives.
Our friend, Bill Andrews, told us almost a year ago to not miss why the Lord moved us here, there is a reason and a lesson. Part of it is definitely for Grandpa and his work life, part of it for Ya-Ya, she has blossomed. For me, I feel still in a holding pattern or I have missed His reasoning. In my mind I recognize lots of great things about this move, my heart and spirit just need to catch up.
Last evening we celebrated Independence Day with church friends way out in the country. We drove along numerous winding roads, some only 1 car wide until we reached our destination. This couple lives on 60 acres. About 10 acres are cleared for their beautiful homestead. We parked and walked back through the woods to another clearing where they have a picnic area and huge volleyball pit, two outhouses with running water and a huge BBQ that can cook maybe 50 hamburgers at one time. We walked down a hill, through some more woods to a lovely little fishing pond where Ya-Ya and lots of the teens and kids were fishing.
In the evening there were fireworks, Grandpa brought some that were like a cannon and blew high into the sky and then starbursts. He also brought some long sparkles for the kids. A great evening.
Have a great day, we love you all,
Grandma
