Thundering Herd and Owls

Ya-Ya's band earned a #1 Superior rating in the competition yesterday at Middle Tennessee State University Concert Bands competition. Congratulations Ya-Ya. The band now gets to go in the State championships in April at Austin Peay University in northwest Tennessee.

Mr. Waters was aiming for perfection. At last week's Preview Concert, he had 4 Band teachers from around the State come and critique the band. On Tuesday he had a Band Professor from Vanderbilt University attend the class and adjudicate them.

We are hearing a different kind of music in the large tree in our neighbour's yard, that over hangs our driveway. We have noticed for the past week, 3 huge owls hang out there at night. They swoop low around the neighbourhood and make like a clicking sound. They are huge with white underbellies. Apparently a few years ago buzzards used to make that old tree their home.

Always something interesting and new to discover here in mid Tennessee.

Love to whoooooooooooo-all
Grandma
