Retreat

I just spent an amazing over night with women from our church at Falls Creek Falls Inn. Falls Creek Falls is a State park in east Tennessee, near Pikeville.

We stayed in the Inn where virtually every room has a lake view. In the morning we looked out over the lake through a wall of windows. The lake, small boats of fishermen and on the far side of the lake tree filled rolling hills.

If you love wilderness with all the conveniences of home this is the place for your next escape. They have this huge Inn, plus fishermen cabins that hang out over the lake plus cabins in the forest, plus camping and picnic sites plus larger cabins that sleep eight to ten with all the amenities. All of the roads in the park are paved. There is horse back riding, crafts and swimming pool, boats to rent, a golf course, loads of hiking trails.

On our way home we walked down to the falls. There before us was this deep and wide gorge. On the far side we saw two of the three falls dropping hundreds of feet over rocky cliffs into a basin. There are hiking trails down into this gorge.

I loved this place so much. Grandpa says the three of us will visit sometime this summer to check it out for a future family reunion.

God bless you.
Grandma
