Spring has sprung a second time for this year. If you remember I bragged about the beauty of Tennessee in late March before we went home for Easter.
Over that week Tennessee had three terribly cold and frosty days. When we arrived home, it looked like an early fall. All kinds of trees and bushes were 'burned' a rusty brown. It was awful.
Well, most trees are coming back. From their bottom branches slowly creeping upward, the fresh new green growth of Spring is appearing.
We have been told by experts to keep watering and do not trim nor fertilize. By June we should know whether our Japanese Maple in the front of our house will survive. Right now that is the only plant on our lot that is showing absolutely no sign of life.
Apparently the Tennessee strawberry crop is all but ruined and Tennessee is known for its strawberries. The grape crop is somewhat damaged also for this year.
We are having warm and rainy days so each day we see an improvement in the landscape.
God bless you this Spring,
Grandma
