Our friends from Burlington, the Andrews, just left. They have been here for 5 days. We all attended TheCall at LP Field here on 7 7 07.
You know it is very hard to describe that day. It was billed, not as a festival nor concert but it was prayer and a fast. In 95 F heat we fasted for the day; prayed for the turning of this nation towards God and away from moral decay; we had communion with the 55 000 plus; attended wedding ceremonies of 3 couples right there in the stadium; heard Michael W. Smith read a letter from George W. Bush; knelt on the cement floors of the stadium in prayer; saw close to 10 000 mainly youth down on the field praising God through prayer and worship music. Much much more we heard; it was a day of repentance for the 40 million aborted children in this country. We heard from a former abortion doctor; a young woman who was talked into an abortion in her teens; a couple who have adopted a rescued baby; a man who paid for an abortion. We need to speak out and support pro-life politicians and the church needs to step up and support these moms who decide to let their babies live; the church needs to step up into the adoption arena. We need to pray for the dismantling of abortion.
My own thoughts on this, as a foster mom, I have some experience and knowledge and witness, I think the church needs not to be afraid of raising other women's children. The children are innocent, they are the victims and the church needs to get over itself and this fear.
We stood in silent protest, with red tape over our mouths with the word "LIFE" written on the tape, for the murdered and innocent. Powerful but just a small description of the day. Apparently God.TV will be re-broadcasting this event in the days and weeks to come, if you can find it on the Internet.
Well, back to reality, laundry and the like. May I never forget all I experienced and pledged on 7 7 07 and may God continue to lead me in His will for my life.
Love to all

Barb - it sounds like this was a very powerful day and I pray that the tide will turn on the issue of abortion. I think we also need to support single moms in the church. It's tough to raise a child alone but with the support of a community giving up your child or abortion don't need to be the only alternatives. (I know it's a big issue but I'm interviewing a woman who works with teen moms in Toronto and I am thankful for all that is being done to support them).
Not enough being done as so many are turning to abortion. 40 Million
lost forever! That is just the USA figure. Not to mention Post Abortion stress on BOTH parents,
doctors, nurses, on and on.
I don't want to give all the
frightening statics here that we
heard. TheCALL is coming to Detroit
in 2008 - check their website.
You are right the church needs to be the place to financially and physically support the young single moms plus for those who
cannot parent the church needs to
step up theCall to adoption.
Thanks for your response. BAB
