Fall Creek Falls Labour Day Weekend

We have arrived home from an overnight at Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park north of Chattanooga.

We discovered some very breathtaking scenery and had a quiet retreat-like time. Double click on the photos especially this first one to get more detail!

This first photo shows an unknown couple sitting out on a ledge high above the canyon of Fall Creek Falls. We walked out to see the Falls and there to our left we saw this couple having a picnic out on this ledge. They must have climbed up the gorge rock face and walked out onto this romantic getaway spot.

At one point they kissed for all of us, as we all cheered approval across the valley!

We hiked down some pretty rocky hill sides and came out upon this swing bridge that Cecelia felt compelled to venture out onto.

One stop along the scenic highway we stopped at shows the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee in the distance. As we were taking this picture 3 young people finished their climb up the rock face infront of us.

We visited the camp grounds here thinking about returning sometime for a family reunion. One spot we stopped to visit was an old fashioned swimming hole with kids jumping off the rocky cliffs into the crystal clear water.

All this is a two hour drive from our home here. I know we will return often for our getaway close to home.

We think tonight of our dear grandkids starting back to school in their new cities. We pray for each one that God will bless them with many wonderful friends as they will be wonderful friends to the children there. We pray that each ones new journey will be soft and sweet and yet challenging, may they continue to be a blessing to all who know them.

Love

Grandma

What a gorgeous spot! If we ever get down your way, we will need several weeks to see all the sights.
