The Bison and The Thundering Herd climbed the ridge to Springfield last evening for their second game of the 2007 Friday Night Lights Football season.
With me in tow as a Bus chaperone on the silver bus. The band is very well disciplined and very well chaperoned. The band is not allowed to shout out the windows, they have "All hands" checks (everyone puts their hands high in the air, this is mainly to check on the couples who sit together), upon entering the driveway of any school every one goes silent, they let the chaperones disembark first, they sweep out the bus on returning to their high school, there is no swearing or rough housing anywhere and they are taught to respect all adults. They very much discipline each other, speak to anyone who is out of line or mouthy! So my time as a bus chaperone was uneventful, almost peaceful!
The Bison beat Springfield Yellow Jackets 22 to 0. The game was well attended, with more people from Gallatin in the stands than on the Springfield side of the field.
I was very interested in seeing the town of Springfield. This is the town where Grandpa works. The district where the High School is, has lovely old Victorian and Arts and Craft style houses. A lot seem run down, but in their prime would have been a lovely neighbourhood.
The school's facilities are pretty basic. The Thundering Herd's tractor trailer got stuck in the driveway and needed some assistance to get pulled out. The tractor trailer with all the instruments, etc., would have arrived home much later than the band buses.
The band continues to improve. It is such a joy seeing Cecelia having fun and participating in such a positive environment.
Love to all

I think it has to do with that great band. Let's watch the team all the way to the State Finals this year!
Where is it that one can listen to games online?
rich
Dad always announces to the football parents around us as the band approached the field, "Okay everyone, listen up, this is why we are all REALLY here, to see the band".
They all look at him and somewhat chuckle.
I will have to find out that online broadcast thing and let you know.
